After killing your lawn you’ll want to scalp it. You’re cutting it as short as possible to get to the soil underneith. I started out mulch mowing, it was going well. Then I decided to cut it a bit more and went too far so I had to bag the clippings.
If your seed down date is close by then you’ll want to bag it from the beginning. My goal here was to mulch mow one notch at a time every few days so I wouldn’t have to do as much bagging.
